Architectural Precast combines the benefits of the high durability, low maintenance, excellent fire resistance and energy efficiency. Although heavier than the other materials we manufacture, sometimes weight is a good thing. When it comes to a landscape planter, precast is heavy enough it will not be stolen, moved by high winds, etc. Specific colors can be achieved through varying sands, aggregates, and pigments. Precast is the most cost effective material when weight is not a factor.

GFRC is concrete that uses glass fibers for reinforcement instead of steel. It is typically sprayed in a thin section of around 1/2″ to 3/4″. Since the fibers cannot rust like steel, there is no need for a protective concrete cover thickness to prevent rusting. With the thin, hollow construction of GFRC products, they can weigh a fraction of the weight of traditional precast concrete. GFRC is a composite of cement, glass fibers, aggregates and polymers. GFRC can be used wherever a light, strong, weather resistant, attractive and fire retardant material is required.
Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete Strength
As an engineered material, the properties of GFRC can vary depending upon mix design, glass content and production methods. Glass fiber is used in quality GFRC. As a general rule, the higher the fiber content, the higher the strength. A typical mix with 5% glass fiber has a compression strength of 6,000 to 8,000 psi.
Glass fiber reinforced concrete has been tested both by accelerated aging tests in the laboratory and in real life installations. GFRC can be expected to last as long as pre-cast concrete. In many environments, as when exposed to salt spray or high moisture, the GFRC can be expected to perform better, as there is no steel reinforcement to corrode. Since the surface of GFRC is a Portland concrete, it weathers much as a quality architectural pre-cast concrete would. It is less susceptible to weather erosion and more freeze thaw resistant than conventional concrete.

CAST STONE COAT
Cast Stone Coat is a highly engineered and tested concrete coating that is cast 1/2″ thick over an EPS core to create a revolutionary lightweight product. Because Cast Stone Coat profiles are 30% weight of cast stone or Precast, savings can be realized in reducing steel required in the wall cavity, connection details, and additional framing that is required by traditional Precast.
Cast Stone Coat profiles offer the aesthetic of limestone, precast or GFRC while offering cost savings, and simplified connection details. With the durability of precast, the flexibility of GFRC, and extremely low water absorption characteristics, Cast Stone Coat is an excellent alternative to create natural stone appearances on all types of construction.
By utilizing metal track and adhesive fastening systems, taking weight off the building and thus lowering deflection requirements in the wall cavity, Cast Stone coat profiles can result in significant overall project savings. Cast Stone Coat Profiles also install faster, using less equipment, and often with less trade coordination on the project. Cast Stone Coat also adds an R value at no additional cost.
